A serious disease affecting Ethiopia's bread wheat supply is stripe rust, which is brought on by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici. The distribution and control of stripe rust in the nation's principal wheat-growing regions were examined in this study. To determine the prevalence, incidence, and severity of the disease in various agro-ecological zones, extensive field surveys were carried out. The effectiveness of other management techniques, such as applying fungicides, using resistant wheat cultivars, and cultural practices, was also assessed in the study. The findings showed that stripe rust is found around the world, but it is more common in places with a variety of climatic variables, such cool, humid climates. The most successful management strategies, which greatly lessened the incidence of disease, were the use of resistant cultivars and prompt fungicide administration. The findings highlight the importance of integrated disease management and the need for ongoing surveillance to detect new virulent strains. Promoting resistant wheat varieties, along with effective fungicide use, is critical for ensuring sustainable wheat production in Ethiopia.
