Rationality and Human Logics in the Thought of Hountondji and Oluwole: Comparative Perspectives on the Status of the "Babalawo" In Yoruba Society

Abstract:
In a context of identity denial and marginalization of traditional African cultural heritage, the decolonization of knowledge emerges as an inescapable imperative. How can we defend and justify a rationality and human logic that can universally convey the production of indigenous African knowledge? The article examines the place of « Babalawo » in the philosophical thoughts of Hountondji and Oluwole, highlighting the epistemological callenges facing postcolonial Africa. Clearly? These two authors offer two distinct yet complementary perspectives that deserve to be explored, especially in the context that highlights the responsibility of african intellectuals.
